Older Brains vs Younger Brains

As reported in a recent article on Science Daily, researches now say that older brains may be more similar to younger brains. A new paper demonstrates that the changes previously reported in the brains of older people may be due to blood vessels changes rather than changes in neuronal activity. The changes were researched via functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). Previous studies of the effects of age on cognition may have misinterpreted the effect of age and categorized it as a cognitive, rather than vascular, phenomena.
