Senior Learning
Senior Learning or Lifelong learning is getting more and more popular as baby boomers retire. Learning programs provide seniors a way to increase their knowledge, explore new interests, and increase social connections. Senior Learning is fantastic for their mental and physical health.
There is a wide variety of courses available from just plain fun classes to very complicated subjects.
There is no pressure if you miss a class or need to drop a class. Many classes can be informal and lend to a comfortable, positive, social atmosphere.
One example is The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at George Mason University in Virginia. It offers intellectual and cultural experiences in a welcoming atmosphere to residents in their retirement years. Seniors enjoy access to unlimited courses with no homework, no exams, no required college degree, and no age threshold.
