National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD), part of Annual Healthcare Decisions Week in Virginia (April 16-22, 2018), exists to inspire, educate and empower the public and providers about the importance of advance care planning.
Please join us for tips and tools on how to start the conversation, and learn what legal documents you should have in place to provide peace of mind and avoid unnecessary emotional burdens and financial costs for you and your family. We will discuss the ins and outs of Advance Medical Directives/Living Wills, Health Care Powers of Attorney, HIPAA Authorizations, DNRs, POSTs and more. We will also hear practical considerations from the physician's and care manager's perspectives, and try to dispel some of the myths surrounding end of life decisions and treatment.
